What is Webmail?
It's a Web-based mail reading program. That means you can use it to check your email from any computer without having to configure an email client like Outlook. Webmail was designed to handle very large mailboxes efficiently and it allows users to create folders in which to store saved messages. For a full list of features, log on to Webmail and select the 'Open WebMail' link at the bottom of the page.

How do I use Webmail?
To use Webmail, all you need is a computer with a connection to the Internet and a browser like Internet Explorer, Firefox or Safari. To log on to Webmail, just select the 'Check Email' link from the top of any page on Cruzio's Web site. You'll be prompted for your email login and password. Your login is the part of your email address that comes before the @.

Where can I get more information about Webmail?
The help files are available via a link at the bottom of each page. Just log on as you normally would to read email, scroll down to the bottom of the page and select the 'Help' link.

How do I read a message?
When you log on, the contents of your inbox will automatically be displayed. Click on the subject line of a message in the list to display it for reading.

How do I reply to a message?

When you log on, the contents of your inbox will automatically be displayed. Select the subject line of a message in the list to display it for reading and choose the 'Reply' button.

Selecting the sender's name will launch a window in which you can compose a new message to that sender, but their message won't be copied.

How do I access my filtered messages using Webmail?
If you have junk mail filtering enabled, the junk mail will be stored in the 'filtered' folder. To see the messages in this folder, select the 'Folders' button from the top left of the window, then choose 'Filtered' from the list.

How much space do I have for storing messages?
Cruzio's new Webmail allows you to store up to 30 megabytes worth of messages in folders you create. Only mail saved in a folder will count toward this limit. You can check to see how much space your folders are using by selecting the 'Folders' button from the top left of the window. Quota information is displayed under the folder list. The Inbox and Filtered folders do not count toward your quota, but Calendar and Address Book entries do.

How do I create an Address Book?

You must create an Address Book before you can add new people. To create an Address Book, select the 'AddrBook' button from the top left of the window. Select the 'Books' button in the top left of the window. Enter a name for your address book, and select 'Add'. Choose the 'Back' button. From the pull down menu in the top left of the window, you can now select your new address book, and begin adding entries.

How do I create and delete an Address Book entry?

Select the 'AddrBook' button from the top left of the window. Create an entry by adding the personal info and selecting the 'Quick Add' button.

You can delete entries by selecting the 'To' field of one or more address book entries and then selecting '-DELETE-' from the pull down menu and clicking the 'Move' button in the upper right area of the address book screen. Global entries can't be deleted.

What does the stationery feature do?

It's a stock reply that you can include in certain messages, as opposed to the signature file, which is automatically included in all messages. To create a stationery entry, select the 'Pref' button from the top left of the window. The 'EditStationery' button is at the top of the preferences window, select it, enter your text and select 'Save Stationery'.

To include the stationery file, select the subject line of a message in the list to display it for reading and choose the 'Reply'. Select the appropriate stationery reply from the pull down menu just below the row of menu buttons.

What should I do, if a folder won't open?
Display your folder list by selecting the 'Folders' button from the top left of the window. Select the 'ReIndex' button to the right of the folder which isn't opening. Re-indexing the folder (recounting the messages) will usually resolve the problem and allow you to open the folder.

Why is the HTML compression option unavailable?
This happens when you're using a proxy server, like Cruzio's dialup accelerator, and the proxy server isn't compatible with HTTP compression.

Why does Webmail require use of a cookie?

Cruzio's Webmail now requires the browser to accept a cookie in order to log in. This requirement was implemented to address a vulnerability that could allow email recipients to hijack your mailbox. The cookie does not contain personally identifiable information, and is only read by the Webmail program.

If you see the error message "Your request didn't contain the proper session ID cookie -- access denied!", then you need to enable the cookie function of your browser's preferences.
