How to Set Up Vista's Windows Mail to Use Cruzio Email

These instructions assume that you are running Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium. If you are running a different version of Vista, please contact Cruzio Tech Support for help.

1) Click on the Windows button and choose "Windows Mail".

2) From the "Tools" menu at the top of Windows Mail, choose "Accounts". An "Internet Accounts" window will appear. Click on "Add". From the list, choose "E-mail Account" and click "Next".

3) A "Your Name" message will appear in the window. In the "Display name" box, enter your name as you would like it to appear in the "From" line of your email messages. Click "Next".

4) An "Internet E-mail Address" message will appear. In the "E-mail address" box, enter your "Email Address" from your Cruzio Login Information sheet. (For example, "mary@cruzio.com" or "joe@joesdomain.com".) Click "Next".

5) A "Set up e-mail servers" message will appear.

5.1) After "Incoming e-mail server type", make sure that "POP3" is selected from the drop-down menu. In the "Incoming mail (POP3 or IMAP) server" box, enter your "Incoming (POP) Mail Server" from your Cruzio Login Information sheet.

5.2) In the "Outgoing e-mail (SMTP) server" box, enter the "Outgoing (SMTP) Mail Server" from your Cruzio Login Information sheet. Leave the "Outgoing server requires authentication" box unchecked. (Note: If you use an Internet Service Provider other than Cruzio for your Internet access, you need to use their SMTP settings instead.)

5.3) Click "Next".

6) An "Internet Mail Logon" message will appear.

6.1) In the "E-mail username" box, enter your "Email Login" (not your "Dialup Login", not your "Email Address") from your Cruzio Login Information sheet. (For example, if your email address is "mary@cruzio.com", your email login is "mary".)

6.2) In the "Password" box, enter your "Email Password" (not your Dialup Password) from your Cruzio Login Information sheet. (Note that Cruzio passwords are case sensitive and contain no spaces or dots; enter your password, using capitals and small letters, exactly as it appears on your Cruzio Login Information sheet.)

6.3) Put a check in the "Remember password" box.

6.4) Click "Next".

7) A "Congratulations" message will appear. Click "Finish" to close the wizard. Click "Close" to close the Internet Accounts box.
