These instructions assume that you have already installed WS-FTP. 1) Connect to the Internet. 2) Launch WS_FTP. (To do this, double-click on the "WS_FTP" program group on your desktop, then double-click on "WS_FTP LE". If you placed the program in a different place when you installed it, it will be somewhere else.) 3) A Session Profile window appears. Click "New" to set up a new profile. 4) You can set the "Profile Name" to be anything you wish, such as "My Cruzio Web Space". 5) In the "Host Name" box, enter the "FTP Server/Host" from your Cruzio Login Information sheet. 6) Set the "Host Type" to "Automatic Detect". 7) In the "User ID" box, enter your "Admin Login" from your Cruzio Login Information sheet. (The letters in your Admin Login are all lowercase, with no spaces.) 8) In the "Password" box, enter your "Admin Password" from your Cruzio Login Information sheet. (Your Password is case sensitive, with no spaces.) 9) Make sure the "Account" box is blank. 10) In the "Remote Host" box, enter your "Remote Directory" from your Cruzio Login Information sheet. 11) In the "Local PC" box, enter the path to the directory where the files you wish to upload are stored. (For example, if the files are in a folder called "upload" that is on your hard disk, enter "c:\upload". 12) Put a check in the "Save password" checkbox. 13) Click "Save" to save these profile settings 14) Click "OK" to connect to the Cruzio web server. 15) Now you'll see a window showing the contents of your computer's hard disk on the left ("Local System"), and the contents of your directory on the Cruzio web server on the right ("Remote System"). Put a check in the "Auto" checkbox. 16) To select the file you wish to upload (on the "Local System") , click on it. 17) To upload the file, click on the arrow button in the middle of the window that points from left to right. After a few moments you'll see your file appear on the right, indicating that it has been successfully uploaded. Tips 1) Because you have created a profile for your connection (that you may have named "My Cruzio Web Space"), from now on you can choose this profile from the "Profile Name" drop-down menu and connect to the web server without typing in your settings. 2) If you use standard file name extensions, WS_FTP should have little trouble uploading your files in the correct formats. For example, you should name your HTML web pages with a ".html" or a ".htm" extension. In other words, your HTML files should be called "anything.html" or "anything.htm". Likewise, a GIF or a JPEG graphic should be called "anything.gif", anything.jpeg", or "anything.jpg". If you do not use standard file name extensions, you should to select the "ASCII" radio button when uploading a text file (a web page in HTML is a text file), or select the "Binary" radio button when uploading all non-text files, such as graphics. 3) In order for the "Home Page URL" on your Cruzio Login Information sheet to work, you must upload a file called "index.html" or "index.htm" into your directory on the Cruzio web server. By default, this file becomes your home page.
