What is a Friend?

At cruzio.com, "friends" can be personal acquaintances, business contacts or fellow hobbyists. You might know them outside the website or you may only meet them within the site, through blogs or pictures. It's a great way to keep in touch with friends and make new contacts.

Only Cruzio members can request or accept your friendship. If you know someone who you think would enjoy being a Cruzio Member you can invite them using the 'Invite A Friend' tool (see below.)

By the way, just like any visitor to the site, your Friends only see information you have typed in to your Profile. They cannot see personal information like your email address unless you choose to share it.

Finding Friends

Friends you have made will appear in your Profile's "Friends" tab so that you can check out their Profile anytime you like.

Cruzio is automatically your friend, of course! You'll get your first friendship request from Cruzio Member Services the first time you log on. There are several ways to find more friends. Log in to Cruzio and try any of the following:

  • Find a blog post, listing or review that intrigues you anywhere on this site, and click on the author's Profile name to visit their Profile.
  • Visit your Profile and on the left, under Friends, search for the name, nickname, neighborhood, or email address of someone you know. In the search results, find the result you want, and click the name of the member to view their Profile.
  • Visit your Profile and on the left, under Friends, click "Invite a friend" to invite someone to join the Cruzio website.

Once you've found a member you want to be your friend, visit their profile and click the "Request Friendship" link. When the person accepts your request, you'll be Cruzio Friends.

Friendship Requests

How do you respond to friendship requests from other members? Let's face it, there are bound to be many!

If you have new friendship requests, you will see a message in the login area when you log in. The first time you log in you'll have a friendship request from Cruzio Member Services. Click that message to go to your friends management page, where you can accept or reject the request.

Another way to accept or reject a friendship request is to go to your Profile and click your "Friends" tab. The member who requested your friendship will appear there. Click the green checkmark to accept the request, or the red X to reject it.

Managing Your Friends List

You've made all the friends and contacts, how the heck are you going to keep track of them all? How will I remember that I met Jack at a business mixer and the Sue has that cool blog about ferrets? The tools available to you on cruzio.com make it easy.

Log in to Cruzio and visit your profile. On the left, under Friends, click "Update my friends."

In the Friends tab, you can update each friend listing by adding personal notes or by choosing a friendship type. You can also remove friends here if that time comes :(.
