Cruzioworks: How to Add a Network Printer

This help page is for Cruzioworks customers. It explains how to configure their computers to use the Cruzio in-house network printer from their coworking space.

How to Add a Network Printer for Windows Users

  1. Open the Start menu in the lower left corner of your screen and click "Control Panel".
  2. If you are in Category view, select "Printers and Other Hardware", then click "Add a printer".

If you are in Classic view, select "Printers and Faxes", then click "Add a printer".

  3. The Add Printer Wizard will now be open. Click the "Next" button.
  4. Select "Local printer attached to this computer". Click the "Next" button.
  5. Select the radio button for "Create a new port" and choose "Standard TCP/IP Port" from the drop-down menu. This will open the Add Standard TCP/IP Printer Port Wizard. Click the "Next" button.
  6. When prompted for the Printer Name or IP Address, enter the following IP address: 63.249.64.7. Click the "Next" button. Click the "Finish" button.
  7. When prompted for a printer driver, select the printer's manufacturer (Brother) and type (Brother HL-5170DN) from the given list. Click the "Next" button.

If the printer manufacturer and type do not appear in the list, you will need to complete the following steps:

    • In a new tab or window of your web browser, surf to the Brother Solutions Center website.
    • Select your Operating System.
    • Select your Language.
    • Click the blue "Search" button.
    • Scroll down to the bottom of the page and under the Drivers heading, click the "Download & Information" link.
    • Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click the blue "Download" button. Download this driver to your computer in a folder you will remember. You can minimize your web browser.
    • Back in the Add Printer Wizard, click "Have Disk...".
    • When prompted, browse to the address of the driver file using the "Browse" button. Once you have selected it, click "OK".
  8. If prompted to use and existing driver, select "Replace the current driver" and click the "Next" button.
  9. When prompted for Printer name, type "Cruzio Rental Printer".
  10. When asked if you want to use this printer as the default, select "Yes" or "No" according to if you are going to use this particular printer as your default.
  11. When prompted if you want to print a test page, select "Yes". NOTE: The test page will not be printed until AFTER you finish the setup wizard, so finish the following steps before checking that your test page was printed.
  12. You have successfully added the printer! Select "Finish" and you are all done. If you opted to print a test page in the previous step, a window will pop up saying your request has been sent to the printer. Click "OK". If the test page does not print, talk to a Tech Serv representative rather than using the Windows troubleshooter.
