Author Topic: Entourage: Error 4632  (Read 5254 times)

These instructions may not be completely accurate. They are for software or equipment that Cruzio does not support.

This document is for an Entourage user who is unable to open some email messages.  These messages appear as grey lines in the inbox and when the user attempts to click on one of these grey lines, the following error message is displayed:

"The action could not be completed. An unknown error occurred: error 4632."

This error usually indicates a problem with the Entourage database.  The following instructions may fix this issue:

1. Restart your computer and attempt to open these messages in Entourage again.

2. If the problem persists, close Entourage by opening the Entourage menu and clicking "Quit".

3. Hold down the Option key on your keyboard, normally located between the Control and Command keys.  If you are using a Windows keyboard, hold down the Windows key, normally located between the Ctrl and Alt keys.

4. While continuing to hold down the key indicated in step 3, locate the Entourage icon on your desktop's dock and click it.

5. A new window will pop up that begins with "Are you sure you want to rebuild your database?"  Make sure "Typical Rebuild" is selected. Rebuilding your database repairs damages, such as corrupt files.  Click "Rebuild" to start the process.

When the rebuild is complete, Entourage should open messages properly.
