Author Topic: Shared FTP space  (Read 5228 times)
« on: August 04, 2009, 01:58:25 pm »

I'm collaborating with some friends (6 of us) on a digital audio project.  I would like to set up a space related to my domain to drop and share files.  These will be too big to send around in email.  Is there a way to set up a separate folder that only we can access?  All using the same username and password would be ok.

Also, what is the storage limit?

Thanks,

- Ray

Cruzio's Website Plus and Premium Hosting services can be set up for Shared FTP space using Web Users.

  1. Login to your domain control panel at http://login.cruzio.com. You may need to log in twice.
  2. Click on your domain name. If you are on Host 6 or 7, you will need to first click "Domains" under the Main Menu in the upper left hand corner.

If you do not know what Host number you are on, after you log into your control panel, look at the URL at the top of your browser. You will see it start with "https://host" followed by a number. That is the Host number you are on.

  3. If you are on Host 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5, in the Hosting section click "Web Users".

If you are on Host 6 or 7, in the Web Site section click "Web Users".

  4. In Tools click Add New Web User.
  5. In the fields provided, create Web User Name and Password and allocate disc usage. Click "OK" to save the new Web User.
  6. Share the FTP login information only to trusted sources.

    FTP Login:
    Host: your domain name

    Login/username: Web User Name

    Password: Web User Password

Thanks!  Just set it up and tried it out with Filezilla.  Works great.

First check how much space you have available.

  1. Login to your domain control panel at http://login.cruzio.com. You may need to log in twice.
  2. If you are Host 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5, look at the list of domains towards the bottom of the page. If you are on Host 6 or 7, you will need to first click "Domains" under the Main Menu in the upper left hand corner and then look at the list of domains.

You will see a column to the far right of each domain labeled "Disk usage". Make note of how much disk space is used for the domain your web users are on.

  3. Compare your disk usage to the total amount of disk space to see how much disk space you have available. If you are on Website Plus hosting, your total amount of disk space will be 2 GB. If you are on Website Premium hosting, your total amount of disk space will be 6 GB.

If you have disk space available, you can then allocate it to your Web User space.

  1. In the Control Panel Home, click on the domain that the Web Users in need of space reside on. If you are on Host 6 or 7, you will need to first click "Domains" under the Main Menu in the upper left hand corner.
  2. If you are on Host 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5, in the Hosting section click "Web Users".

If you are on Host 6 or 7, in the Web Site section click "Web Users".

  3. Click on the Web User you wish to allocate more space to.
  4. Under "Hard disk quota" you can enter how much space to allocate to that Web User. Click "OK" to save changes. (Although it appears on the same page, there is no need to change your password to allocate disk space)

If you need more Web disk space, please contact Cruzio.
