Cruzio Dialup Accelerator Questions

What is the Cruzio Dialup Accelerator?
The Cruzio Dialup Accelerator is a FREE service that can greatly increase the speed of Web browsing and email for dialup users. It does this by compressing and caching graphics, keeping them close to Cruzio for quicker retrieval. The Cruzio Dialup Accelerator also features a built-in pop-up and advertisement blocker! Check out the demo.

Who should use the Cruzio Dialup Accelerator?
Any Cruzio member with regular dialup service (not DSL backup dialup) can speed up her Web browsing experience by installing the Accelerator. Cruzio does not recommend that DSL users use the Accelerator, since there will be no real increase in speed.

How fast is it?

The Cruzio Dialup Accelerator is quickest on Web pages that feature a lot of graphics. Our comparisons here in the Cruzio Lab show that pages with mainly graphics are up to 5 times faster, while pages with more of a mix are around 2-3 times faster.

It should be noted that the Accelerator does not accelerate downloading files, such as music or programs. It also does not accelerate streaming files, such as RealAudio or Quicktime.
