The Gong Show And My Novel

Wordsmith Published in The Arts by Wordsmith Print

Two great artistic events will happen this year.  One is the return of The Gong Show, the most appallingly entertaing game show that ever was, the other will be the completion of my novel.

For those of you too young to remember The Gong Show, imagine three B- and C-list T.V. actor judges, a string of woefully amateur contestants who are as bold as they are talentless, a very laid back host with notoriously bad taste and a proclivity for hats, a gong, Gene Gene the Dancing Machine, and everybody all hopped up on one substance or another.  When I heard the show was being resurrected I had my doubts, anachronistic relic of the 70's that it is, but when I then heard that the wondefully obnoxious Dave Attell was going to be the host, I knew the show was going to be in good hands.

As for novel, it may not have any drunken, mallet swinging judges, but I think it will be pretty good.  I'm working on the sixth and final draft of my novel and I'm going to finish it this year.  I know I said that about the fifth draft, but this time, I mean it.

I'll try to get it published in a regular way, but first, I want people to read it.  I may post some ot it here, or I'll print out copies, haven't decided yet.  All I know is that I've been working on it for eight years now and I'm yearning for some feedback.  Will keep y'all posted.
