I liked young Chekov. That actor was Charlie Bartlett, right? And I believe he's in the new Terminator.

It was fun. I actually wouldn't have bothered seeing it, except everyone kept saying how good it was, so we got a babysitter and bought tickets. Glad we did!
I was a fan of the new Spock--but what was with the Uhura relationship? I'm not sure I bought that. Lots of fun info on Wikipedia about the movie: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Star_Trek_(film) report abuse

@hugobarber: yeah young checkov was cool. I haven't seen Charlie Bartlett, maybe I'll check it out.
@PuffinGal: yeah I don't know if I bought the Uhura relationship either. It's hard to imagine Spock in a relationship with anyone. report abuse

In order: Chehkov: fantastic. Then Kirk, excellent — so similar to Shatner and yet a new twist. Then Scotty: Simon Pegg is wonderful, too bad the role was so small. I'd be happy if the whole movie was about him.
Sulu: eh, okay. I thought Uhura was all right, but her role was inane (Spock & Uhura??? no way), Bones was okay, and I liked Spock the least. I missed the real Spock. Even though Nimoy was in the movie. As a sci fi buff I love time loops and their conundrums, but the one in this movie was sadly lame. However it does mean they can make an infinite number of sequels, which is good. When the opening shot of the Starship Enterprise rolled I was so excited! — and the birth scene of Kirk was outrageous, over the top, splendid. In all, this was an excellent, fun, silly, silly movie and I hope they make a lot more. report abuse
