  While reading and hearing about all the preparations for the upcoming Democratic Convention in Denver complete with a permanent surveilance apparatus, increased militarism and an isolation pen for protestors, the absurdity of it all finally sank in.  I just don't know how to make sense of things anymore.  All this paranoia is causing me to feel more paranoid than usual, but also curious about what the future holds.  It will either be horribly tragic or side splittingly comic (I'm hoping for the latter).

I know people who are perfectly accepting of increased totalitarianism (they think it will make them "safe"), but blind allegiance is the not best way to show loyalty or patriotism, nor is it good for anything else, it leads to codependency, psychosis, and other problems that require professional help.  All of this is very amusing because there would be no U.S. of A. without protest.  The defenders of the today's status quo are the Torries of yesteryear who were opposed to the founders.  Powewr wants only one thing, to keep its power, and preserving it is priority number one for those who profit from it, then as now and all through out history.
