Air Tea With Lucky!!
AIR TEA WITH LUCKY!!
he year is 193?, probably two or three, as I was probably two or three. The scene is outdoors, just outside the estate of my dearest love, Mr. Lucky Luciano, AKA Charles Salvatore Lucania. You think I done that name backwards? Nope! For, you see one day, Mr. Lucky, I call "lud key", was very angry...he was made at his family, The Lucania family. That's because, they insulted him by saying that he could not bring me up properly (preposterous!). And so he set me out for them to pick me up. And would you believe, that even though I wore my very best clothes and sat like a perfect lady waiting for "god knows what"...they passed me over! Yep, Mr. Lucania, number whatever, (I know he saw me) just walked right on by, not pickin' up the merchandise! Lucky's men say he "looked right through her"! Now I know I am ugly! Too ugly to keep! Well, Mr. Lucky, say "That's the end of that and they can't say we never tried". Truth is, I think we both know we better off and we didn't really, down deep, want this to come off. But we don speak about it. Now, can you believe on that day, what Lucky bellowed? "We are no longer Lucania, we are now Luciano", "only"! He don never want hear the name Lucania, ever again! So, best I can write is, AKA Lucania, that's appropriate, right? Our name now being Luciano, "forever"! That was a very bad and a very good day. However, the day I now want tell of, was a very special time, a very memorable day! There we are on Mr. Luciano's veranda. ‘Tis such a beautiful place, fit for a Queen; can't say "princess", ‘cuz Blackie Daddy doesn't like! Oh,this "backyard" is fit for any royalty". Royal tea, that's what we're havin', right here, right today, right now! For, Mr. Luciano and I are sitting on white ironstone chairs, beside a beautiful, very white, ornate, round ironstone table. And atop "our" table, is a tiny little doll tea set. Don know why called doll set, for it is mine to share with "my", Mr. Luciano! Betcha, he's mine! I caught him and I keep him! (Now, don talk much about that to Blackie Daddy, not for good day). Well, as I say, "Lucky Daddy" and I are out on the verandae, that overlooks a perfectly sculptured garden. A maze of rose bushes! Between the rose bushes are paths for walking amidst the many, many beautiful flowers; every shade of pink imaginable! Not for picking, though; just for looks. Never saw such big "backyard", don know why Lucky giggle when I call it the "backyard" ...what else? It's in the back. And yah know, if you walk way back, almost to the end, there is a "duck pond", I mean a lily pond. Too small for ducks, Lucky teach. And one day I got to spend some time out there, yet, that is another, really good, story! Anyways, there we are, really not much to tell, too special. We sit out there, most quiet, drinking air tea, after I put two lumps of sugar (imaginary) and a "tiny bit of crème", in Lucky's tea cup. I take mine plain. He is surprised I don't want lotsa sugars. (Can't have real thing, don't want no thing). "I see", he says with head tucked and serious face. Seem he concerned about me. Why! I am fine with him! And so that's about all there is, about that, ‘cuz hard to explain those special, special feelings of such an occasion, such a very special time. Yet, there is one thing to tell, for every time we have "air tea", Lucky says mine best ever and that I am a good tea maker! How about that! You know I am so amazed at him. How he manages to hold those tiny teacups, so daintily, with his big, muscular hands is a mystery! And he even sticks out his pinky, like me! Oh, I could live like this forever, in the warm sunshine, with a cool breeze, flowers and paths, frogs in the lily pond and Lucky right here with me's! I heard bit ‘bout heaven and it must be just like, this day! And can you believe that rough, tough, gentleman, never spills a drop! He has class to pass, and then some! He choked on spit with that one. ((Think I goofed, better study up some more!)). Oh, dear reader, I am sorry that I been "Big Timing" you, and sorry you can't nefer do what I done, but Mr. Lucky says, "No one gets to have it all". And what he say, he know!! (c)Princess Rain in Face, October 25, 2009 I love to receive comments, good, bad or otherwise! Thanks!
