If I were a smoke detector, I'd be going off several times a day. Downtown Santa Cruz is many miles from the Lockheed fire, but when the wind blows from the north the air is acrid and stinging, the sky ash grey.

i guess a few people saw the denny's super bowl commercial promoting their free breakfast giveaway today! check out the 8 am crowd at the denny's on ocean! i'm no mr. blackwell, but the guy at the front of the line has a nice green and gold jacket.
