Russian director Alexander Sokurov's take on the German legend Faust has won the film a Golden Lion - the top award at the Venice Film Festival.

Nina Paley is an amazing artist and former Santa Cruz resident.  She's the artist who gave life to our beloved Cruzio Kitty almost 20 years ago.

 

She has since moved from Santa Cruz and has become an accomplished animator.
