Ice Coffee,  03/18/11 at 12:40 PM

They have an exceptionally good iced coffee- never watered down always strong! Pete's in Santa Cruz is different because most people here don't linger but rather take their coffee to go.

THE FIND,  03/18/11 at 12:07 PM

I was going to Watsonville to buy some produce from local farms when met a guy who told me about Corralitos Market & Sausage Company. He was right when he said, "you know your close when you smell meat cooking." Lets just say I wished my local market's deli was this good. They had every type of meat you could think of. I was being adventurous and tried the the ostrich...yum! Locals go crazy for the cheesy barbarian sandwich, and after seeing that thing I understand! This place needs needs to be on the top of everyone's restaurant list.

Karakoe Time,  03/18/11 at 12:00 PM

Some of my best memories are in the Karaoke room of I Love Sushi. This is a great place for large parties to get loose. When its your birthday you get VIP treatment. The owner will come out and sing to you or have a sake bomb with you (on the house of course.) Also every time I have gone I have at least gotten one appetizer on the house. They have many deep fried roles that are scrumptious!

Santa Cruz Vibe,  03/18/11 at 11:52 AM

Asana is the perfect place to let your creative side run wild. They have created their name by serving artisan teas and food to promote your well being. But the atmosphere is what makes Asana unique. There is no wifi service and they ask their customers to refrain from using their cell phone so they are able to focus on the present. When I went in their staff let me smell as many teas as I wanted until I choose the white coconut tea. While drinking me tea I was surrounded by people writing reading and playing music. Asana is a great place to escape the chaotic world.

Great Service,  03/14/11 at 9:16 AM

First walking in I was a bit skeptical because there were no other customers but that all changed when my friend and I sat down. Our waiter was very attentive throughout the entire meal. I knew it was going to be a good meal when our waiter brought out whipped garlic butter and fresh bread. Rooco's menu consists of burgers (which were delicious) pastas and sandwiches. My friend got the pesto pasta, which was a large portion for one person, and a cheese burger. I will be coming back soon!

This Subways keeps up the corporation's good name by providing a good meal for a cheap price and QUICKLY. Great place for a quick and healthy meal so you can return to your shopping on a full stomach.

Drink with a view,  03/02/11 at 10:12 AM

Margaritaville a spot for drinks with a view...that's it. Even though its impossible to get the waitstaff's attention on a busy day they still expect you to order a drink if you want a seat. So Margaritaville leaves the customer to do most of their own ordering at the bar. Margaritaville is a great place to take people from out of town a good time an show off Santa Cruz's beautiful coast.

 Eco-friendly buisness,  03/02/11 at 9:59 AM

My first encounter with Alfresco's was at a party where they hired the owner to cater the event. She created a beautiful display of finger foods such as a vegetarian pâté in a baked won ton crisp. I loved the food so much I went to her kiosk and tried the goat cheese salad and loved it! She is very reasonably priced and is a eco-friendly business.

Best Club in Santa cruz,  03/02/11 at 9:53 AM

Motiv is the best club in Santa Cruz and they know it! Most nights they have a pretty reasonable cover charge (around $5) and the drinks are fairly priced. But actually being able to find a spot at the bar to buy a drink is another story. Motiv always is crowded (which can be a good or a bad thing.)

I have also tried Motiv for lunch when my mom came into town and they menu sounded better than it tasted. We ordered burgers that took 45 to come out of the kitchen and we would of been better off just going to Betty's.

For a night on the town Motiv is at the top of my list but for lunch its a pass.

In and out- bagel style,  03/02/11 at 9:44 AM

They get you in and out as quickly as possible with a consideration of what the customers wants. Most of the time anything that is not a bagel or prepackaged is sold in bad condition. When you come to Noah's stay safe by sticking with a bagel and cream cheese with no extras.

 Bagels!,  03/02/11 at 9:39 AM

The Bagelry makes bagels that are crispy on the outside and are soft on the inside. This only means one thing-- pure deliciousness. Pair your bagel of choice with a flavored cream cheese and you will have a breakfast all for under $5 bucks.
Good price, better quality

Tortilla soup,  03/02/11 at 9:18 AM

The Buttery uses ingredients that most people having lying around there kitchen but creates salads that I would never think of creating. An example (and a buttery must have) is their half avocado stuffed with chicken curry...mmmm! Or their apple Waldorf salad that they make with a yogurt dressing. But my favorite is the the tortilla soup! What makes it special is they add toppings (tortilla strips and avocado) when you order the soup so they are not sitting in a pot all day getting soggy.

healthy dessert!,  02/28/11 at 12:59 PM

This is Santa Cruz's version of Pinkberry. Their yogurt is unique because it has live cultures which have certain health benefits. I am always in for a healthy dessert!

 Lulu,  02/28/11 at 12:54 PM

Lulu's has a large crowd of UCSC grad students and professors doing work. The coffee and food is a little price in combination with having now electric outlets available for customers, but with all that said its still almost impossible to find a seat at Lulus.
