Hand Drumming & Hand Percussion Class with Jim Greiner. Wednesday evenings, 7 to 8:30 p.m. in Soquel Village. This is an ongoing, beginning to advanced level class that includes Congas, Djembe and a wide range of hand percussion instruments (clavés, maracas, Shekeré, bells and more!). Jim keeps the energy and the groove upbeat, while insuring that everyone, at all levels of experience, reinforce good fundamentals on the instruments, stay relaxed, learn new skills and progress to new levels and... have fun! The cost is $70 for four, 90-minute sessions, or $30 for one session. Jim Greiner has been playing percussion since 1970, including two years in Africa, and teaching and leading interactive drumming sessions since 1980. Through his company, Hands-On! Drumming® Events (www.handsondrum.com), Jim conducts rhythm-based programs worldwide for corporate team building, conference ice breaking and keynotes, community events, schools and private groups.
