Cruzio's 3-Step Guide to Set Up Internet TV

Step 1: Hook your computer to your TV

Of course you can use your computer screen to watch Internet TV, but wouldn’t you like to use your existing TV? It’s easy to connect your computer to the TV with these simple instructions:

  1. Find the video output on your computer. The most common types are VGA, HDMI, or DVI.
  2. Back of a computer
  3. Find the video input on your TV. If it’s made in the last few years, it probably has either HDMI, DVI, or VGA.
  4. Back of a TV
  5. Get the right cable to hook the two up together. Cruzio stocks the major cables needed, including HDMI, DVI, VGA, and audio cables.

Check the Hook PC to TV wizard if you need help getting the right cable.
  6. TV cables to be used
  7. You may have to change the resolution of your computer to match that of your TV. The most common resolutions are 800x600, 1280x720, and 1920x1080. (If you don't know how to change your computer's screen resolution, see help for Mac OS X, Windows XP, or Windows Vista.)

Step 2: Get the right software

Internet TV took a great leap forward with Hulu.com. Originally a partnership between Fox and NBC, Hulu has expanded to have shows and movies from most of the major networks and cable channels.

Use the logos in the left sidebar to go directly to the TV stations’ websites to watch shows. While not as convenient as Hulu, it’s the easiest way to watch shows from CBS.
Livestation broadcasts live international TV news online. Many channels are free, some require subscriptions.
Millions of people use Netflix to rent DVDs. Recently, Netflix added thousands of TV shows and movies that can be streamed online. Many aren't available anywhere else.
For those that are ready to move up and get a real “media center” experience, look at downloading Boxee. It has Hulu, Netflix, MLB.tv and more for video, plus online radio and photo sharing options.

Step 3: Sit back and enjoy!

What are you going to do with all that extra money you're now saving with Internet TV? Why not put some of it toward upgrading your Internet speed!
