This is one of the most interesting places in Santa Cruz. The dishes are spicy. The menu looks a bit more extensive than it really is, the difference being whether it is vegetarian or not. I haven't had a bad meal yet the several times I've been here. The servings are large and the service is informal. The spiced chicken is fantastic, as is the specialty naan.

A little oily. Not enough Spice. But well-cooked. A little pricey, honestly, for the whole shebang, considering, but not too bad. I tend to like a creamy and spicy masala and I am a masala snob, but it could have been worse. The staff is a little iffy--the kitchen is in the front so you can see who is cooking your food, which may explain the un-traditional masala. The cooks were nice though! That is a plus. No matter what, check it out at least. it was clean. decent atmosphere. bring a friend and ignore the lack of spice, it wont be the worst. free chai. I'll go back. I do have to say, the leftovers today were delicious. try the chana masala with rice, the garbonzo beans were soft but not mushy. Mmmm.
