This wonderful place is tucked away behind the main strip mall building at the intersection of Scotts Valley Drive and Mt. Hermon Road. IF you blink, you'll miss it, but fear not, you can enter from either street. The chef/owner once did some work with Julia Child and it seems to show in her work here--fresh, unpretentious food. This place is so focused on fresh that they even have their own fish market, which sells to the public as well as to the trade.

Try the scallops in citrus beurre blanc, simply served with veggies and rice. It's like something you'd make at home (at least I would), just with much bigger scallops. They were cooked perfectly, not one nanosecond overdone. I have also had the sea bass done with a sort of "cajun" spice, pan-grilled, served with the freshest shrimp on top, drizzled with beurre blanc that seemed to have a hint of saffron. Succulent doesn't begin to describe that fish. The appetizers are wonderful. We had the namesake Sandabs and they were really good. Sometimes that is offered as an entree, too. Good salads, nice little desserts. They offer some "mini-desserts" if you are a tad too full.

The wine list is extensive and perhaps a little too ambitious--we've found sometimes they don't have the wine in stock that we've ordered, but their substitute suggestions are always great.

Prices are fairly high but quality is high, too.
