Bobo's right, it's silly to try and grade art. But for free first Fridays every month, I give the MAH an A+. They even serve refreshments. Check it out!

If you want to catch some current exhibitions, the Eduardo Carrillo paintings are stunning. The predominantly Mexican subjects and flavor of the Carrillo exhibition are complemented nicely by the Dia de los Muertos exhibition in the lobby, including an altar for Carrillo by his widow.

Richard Mayhew's abstract landscapes are a colorful treat that will warm you up on the coldest day just to look at them.

The MAH is a local resource for both locals and visitors. The MAH has an ongoing exhibit covering Santa Cruz history, from the Ohlone Indians to the 1989 earthquake. The rotating art galleries have displayed exceptional artists from glass blower William Morris to world-renowned local artist Mattie Leeds. Be sure to visit often, there's always something new! Not sure where it is? Look for the big "M" and red ball on the sidewalk.
